This training covers Asset Management and Risk & Resilience. Participants will learn the purpose of an Asset Management Plan and its key components: inventory, condition, criticality, maintenance, and budgeting, with a worksheet walkthrough. The Risk & Resilience portion explains RRA requirements under AWIA, the assessment process, and how to identify risks and vulnerabilities. It concludes by showing how RRAs support effective Emergency Response Plans.

RCAP's Fiscal Officer Boot Camp

This training will assist any level of experience in the Fiscal Officer position to improve financial management of their utility. In this class we will cover water and wastewater utility fund accounting, how to create your own financial proforma, explore infrastructure funding opportunities, roles and responsibilities of the utility team, and sources of information needing incorporated into the annual budget.

Join the RCAP Team in rural Harrison County for a day of field instruction and demonstrations, to include Valve Exercising, Meter Technologies, Treatment, Manhole Inspection Tools, Drone Demonstration, GIS, Water Audits, Cybersecurity and more!

OEPA Chief of the Division of Drinking and Ground Waters, Amy Keil, will be the featured lunch speaker. Tours of the water and wastewater plants will be offered on a first-come basis with sign-up at the registration table. Attendees can earn up to 6 OEPA contact hours.

Register by May 18 to guarantee your lunch. Dress for the weather. Lawn chairs are optional.

Preparing A Financial Projection for Your Utility

This is a hands-on learning experience with one-on-one personal attention for those in administrative, financial, or managerial positions within a water or wastewater utility. Attendees will create a usable financial proforma to be used in the annual budget, loan applications, rate setting, and meeting regulatory requirements of asset management.

Each utility attending will be asked to bring at least 1 laptop, financial report, most recent audit, current debt list, and current rate schedule/legislation.

A Roadmap for Utility Sustainability

Instructor-led webinars enable busy local officials and staff the training opportunities they need to fit their schedules. Registration is required, and for many classes, space is limited. If an event fills and a waitlist is started, when practical we will try to add another class. RCAP will give local officials and operational staff priority if we are not able to accommodate everyone.

Once registered, please note: if the training is more than 45 days out, you will not receive a follow-up email. Once within the 45-day window, you will receive the follow-up emails.

Attendance and Recommended Equipment
So your attendance and participation can be accurately calculated, you will not be able to join more than a few minutes early. All presentations will begin promptly at the start time. Please be sure WebEx is the only open program/application on your computer. Please close all other windows to ensure proper credit for contact hours, if applicable.
