Ottawa County, Perrysburg Head Start centers offering no-cost preschool

Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) Early Childhood Centers in Genoa, Perryburg/Rossford, and Port Clinton are seeking students ages 3-5 for no-cost preschool opportunities through Head Start.

GLCAP Head Start offers full-day preschool that focuses on kindergarten readiness, socialization, and other important developmental needs for children and families. Snacks and meals are provided. There is no cost to enroll for eligible families.

While eligibility is based on federal poverty guidelines, program staff will look at each family’s situation and assist them in finding the best option for their family’s circumstances. Families who receive SNAP benefits as well as children in foster care or identified as homeless are also eligible, regardless of income. Children with disabilities are welcome and accommodated at all centers. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to call for details.

GLCAP’s Genoa Early Childhood Center is located at 1224 West St. in the Brunner Campus; the Perrysburg/Rossford Center is at 28744 Simmons Road in Perrysburg at Lutheran Church of the Master; and the Port Clinton Early Childhood Center is located at 1848 E. Perry St. in the Sutton Center. In addition to these centers, GLCAP also has Head Start services throughout Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, and Wood counties.
