Sept. 28 deadline for cooling assistance

Those needing help through the Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) Summer Crisis Program have until Sept. 28 to apply for assistance.

The program is available for eligible households in Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, and Wood County and offers cooling relief for households with a member age 60 or over, or households that have a member with a documented medical condition that requires air conditioning. Households must be at or below 175% of federal poverty guidelines (e.g. $48,563/household of four) to qualify.

To receive assistance, appointments must be scheduled by calling GLCAP’s scheduling hotline at 567-432-5046 or by visiting www.glcap.org/summercooling.
