Summer Learning and Afterschool Opportunities Grants awarded to GLCAP

Fremont City Schools and Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) will team up to offer summer learning and afterschool programming at Fremont Ross High School beginning this June.

The Afterschool Program will serve 120 students in grades 9 through 12 during the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years. The Summer Learning Program will also serve the same number and grades of students over three summers from 2022 through 2024.

For the first year, the Summer Learning Program will operate June 13-Aug. 2, 2022. The Afterschool Program will take place Sept. 13, 2022-May 26, 2023.

Summer Learning programs are funded by a $900,000 Ohio Department of Education (ODE) grant and Afterschool programs are funded by a $1 million ODE grant to address students’ academic, social, and emotional needs, especially for students who experienced learning disruptions due to the pandemic.
